After departing from the hotel in the morning, you'll embark on a full day of discovering the ancient marvels of Luxor. The journey begins with a visit to the east bank of Luxor and the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple, the largest religious building ever constructed. Known as the birthplace of Amun, it was built at the start of the Middle Kingdom and is one of the most important monuments in Thebes.
Following a break for lunch, the itinerary takes you to the west bank of the Nile, where you'll encounter the monumental Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues that have stood the test of time for over 3,000 years. Then, get ready to explore the Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of ancient Egyptian pharaohs from the eighteenth and nineteenth dynasties are carved into the rock. This fascinating site features a labyrinth of corridors and chambers, and you'll be able to visit three tombs (excluding King Tutankhamunβs).
Next, you'll head to the alabaster workshop to see where artisans once crafted beautiful statues and objects from the stone. Your last stop on the west bank will be the magnificent temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the few female pharaohs, who ruled Egypt for about 20 years during the 18th dynasty.
The day concludes with a visit to the Luxor Temple, built by Amunhotep III and completed by Ramses II during the New Kingdom. You'll also visit the towering obelisk of Ramses II, a symbol of his reign. After a full day of exploring these historic sites, you'll head back to your hotel for accommodation and dinner.
Optional: If you wish, you can join a trip to Banana Island, where you'll experience the lush beauty of the island in the Nile. Your guide will offer this option to you during the day.
